Melting Snowmans!!

Here are the poor little snowman cookies my mom and I made Sunday!

What we used....
FOR THE BODY
Pillsbury Sugar Cookie Dough
White Cookie Frosting (I think it is Betty Crocker and found near the candles)
Small Tube of Brown Gel Frosting
Small Sharp Knife
Colored M&Ms

FOR THE HEAD
Malt Balls
Small Tube of Black Frosting
Fondant (We found some that was pre-colored orange at Michaels)
White Chocolate (to melt)

FOR GLUING
Light Corn Syrup

NOW THE FUN BEGINS

1. Roll out your dough and cut out a blob shape with a sharp knife. If the edges are rough from cutting, pat with your fingers to smooth. Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet and follow the temp and time written on the dough package.

2. While they are baking, melt the white chocolate and dip the malt balls in the chocolate to make the head. Place the covered malt balls on a cooling rack or cookie sheet covered with parchment paper and place in the refrigerator to cool.

3. Once the cookies are cool you can ice them. Once the icing has harden you can take the heads and glue them to the body by carefully dabbing the bottom into the corn syrup.

4. To make the noses just pinch off a little of the fondant and roll it into a carrot with your fingers. Glue to the head with the corn syrup

5. Now you can finish decorating by gluing on your buttons and drawing the face and arms!!

ENJOY!!!!!!!!

And The Classes Begin................

Last night we had our first "birth and baby" class. The most memorable quote from the nurse was, "Ok dads, this Life Saver (the candy) represents your wives cervix and you are going to suck on it until it dissolves to represent the thinning of her cervix."..... At that moment I about pee'd my pants. I can only imagine what was going through Jason's head at that time. Of course Jason only lasted sucking on the Life Saver for about 1 minute and then you heard a big crunch as he bit into it and the teacher called him out....Way to go J. :) Now, I am officially freaked out about giving birth and we've only been to one class. On a side note, I did get a lovely back massage from Jason as we practiced our first breathing technique. However there was a moment of Jason getting bored so he decided to start spelling things on my back.... not very helpful J......I was trying to concentrate....

Is this what I have to look forward to???

At my OBGYN appointment today I spent a LOT of time just waiting all alone in the exam room. So I looked at all the adorable baby pictures along the wall making me excited for Jack's arrival....and then after looking at them all and the Dr. was still not there I began looking at the hand drawn picture a little boy had drawn the Dr. that was framed on the wall right in front of me and thought, "aw isn't that sweet." After a few seconds of trying to figure out what the picture was all about I noticed the little man in the top right corner with HIS HEAD CUT OFF! Really??? I mean first, who would give anyone a picture like that and second, who would frame it on a wall??? Is this what I have to look forward to with a little boy??? Oh my I am scared!

How could I resist!!!

Well, I finally bought my first article of baby clothing! I had decided that I was going to work really hard to not buy any myself because I KNOW Jack is going to be spoiled and will have tons of clothes!! But.....then I saw the little football hat.....Oh how could I resist!!! Even Jason got a cute little smirk on his face when he saw it!
