Never a Dull Moment

Wyatt Thomas Buckland.......

If you are lucky enough to know this sweet sweet boy you know that he is full of life! I am 100% sure that his goal in life is to make people smile, laugh and most importantly.... keep me on my toes. Now if you do know Wyatt you also know that he LOVES his paci and his blankey! This brings me to the main point of this post.

Monday evening WE LOST EVERY PACI!!!!!  I am not even sure how that was even possible but we did. I had a 5 second moment of panic ( I think I appreciate that paci as much as he does) but then pulled myself together and put my "we can do this" hat on.... Luckily I never felt like I was flat out lying to him because we really did lose them so there were no other options. I am so proud at how he handled it. He looked every where he could think to find a paci and then just took it for what it was.....  BUT apparently it really helps our little man fall asleep.

Night 1
He got out of bed about 5 times.... but we stayed strong and kept taking him back. Finally he stayed in bed! WE THOUGHT! Jason and I were watching tv and I thought I heard something and sure enough I walked in to the kitchen to find Wyatt sitting at the counter eating a bag of chips....... sigh..... ooh Wyatt....

Day 2
No Nap......sigh.......

Night 2
After getting up and taking him back to bed multiple times, he finally came down and I noticed he smelled like vapor rub. Apparently he put it all over his bottom.......sigh..... (I've hidden all creams now)

Day 3
I am going out to buy some more wine..............

Packing...... Aka torture

I hate packing...... 😳😳😳

Jason walked in and said, "I really feel like there isn't much left to pack." So I went to look at what he has been doing....

Ahh life through the eyes of a man. Apparently he has lost his mind...

It's Crunch Time!

Well Greensboro,  you are stuck with me for one more week. We have pushed the move date back one week because we added one more project to our list. I can't wait to reveal the complete before and after pictures. Yesterday I woke up bright and early and drove up to the new house to meet the granite guys and check things out. Then left just in time to get home and go bowling for Jack's 4th birthday! I cannot believe I have a 4 year old.

Side note.... I drove 3-4 hours through snow and dreamt about snow hitting me in the face ALL NIGHT... awesome....

As I drove yesterday the temperature dropped 20 degrees! I've never been sooo cold! I might be walking around in a snow suit all winter. Fun fact.... when I was looking at colleges Virginia Tech was on my list but I decided it was too cold for me. Jokes on me.....

Here are a few sneak preview pictures of what is happening right now!

What 2015 brings.......

Here is to new beginnings. A new year, a new state, a new town, a new home, a new adventure TOGETHER.

I began this post as a goodbye letter to my home and dear friends, but this is in no way a goodbye. This is a thank you for filling all my wonderful years here with so much love and so many smiles. I will always cherish everyone and everything. However, like I said, this is in no way a goodbye. This is a see you in a little while.... Worst case, I will overwhelm you with so many posts and pictures on here it will be like we never left. Everyone can come along with us as we begin our new adventure!

Our new home sweet home

First major event..... Pack my house in 8 days!?!?!?
Yep you heard me right. Well.....I might leave out a wine glass for this ;)

Just a typical Sunday

Before kids I LOVED watching red carpet shows! So I decided that after a WHOLE weekend of watching football I decided to take things in to my own hands.

Enter multi tasking..... feeding the kids, enjoying a glass of wine and watching the Emmy's Red Carpet!

And THEN things got interesting....

After giving the kids a bath I asked Jason to put Jack in his PJs while I dressed Wyatt.
This is what I found.
Yep, those are Wyatt's PJs on Jack. Never thought that was possible!
Wyatt decided he was NOT going to share.

It's safe to say that Jack's life is about to change very soon.

Scolding

scold·ing
ˈskōldiNG/
noun
  1. 1.
    an angry rebuke or reprimand

That's what I received FROM JACK. Say what???????  I wasn't ready for that one! Man he is only 2-1/2 GOING ON 30!

    Here's the story...

Friday after getting back to the gym after a TWO WEEK (yes two) hiatus.

THEN going to the grocery store with a screaming baby. (yes screamed through the entire trip)

Oh and did I mention it was pouring down rain when we walked out??? YEAH IT WAS AWESOME

Ok... I'll get on with it. So we are ALMOST home and I completely zoned out listening to music and the I hear, "Mommy! Answer me! I am talking to you!" What? Say What???

He then went on to tell me that he asked me what kind on truck just went by and that it wasn't very nice that I didn't respond to him....

I then put my tail between my legs and apologized over and over telling him how right he was... of course he asked why and who knows what I came up for that one.

Guess I need to get on top of my game..... Yikes! I've said this once and I will say it again. He is way too smart.....I'm in trouble...

PLEASE EXCUSE THE MESS....

…. Story of my life.
But you know what… I am so over that!
Hi my name is Emily Buckland and my house is a mess.
Sometimes I feel like I should have anyone who walks into our house sign a liability release for the chance that they could step on a little car. THEY ARE EVERYWHERE!
As Jack would say, “We play hard.”  It has taken me quite a while to get used to the stay at home mom routine with two kids, but I’ve got this gig under control now! I mean it only took me a year… YIKES!

I have noticed that the days I really go in to clean up mode are the days I feel so sad because I barely got to play with my boys! Now, don’t get me wrong, I know that doesn’t mean if you have a super clean house that means you never play with your kids. But in my house that pretty much goes hand and hand. I’ve NEVER been the most organized person and I do enjoy my quiet alone time during naptime occasionally. In my life sitting still without answering a “why” question in GOLDEN!

WRAP UP….

I am making a major effort to take a moment at the end of the day EVERY DAY to look around and see how much fun we had instead of what a mess we had.
It’s the little things, and I plan to treasure them! They will be old enough for chores soon enough ;)
